Werribee Zoo has two new giraffes called Amani and Thembi. They have just moved to Melbourne from NSW and they're really enjoying their new home!
The most amazing thing is how they actually got to the zoo - they didn't fly (because lets face it…economy is squashy enough for a human and my legs are only 1 metre long!). No, the giraffes were moved on the back of a truck! The trip was roughly 12 hours long and required extensive planning!
When I went out to visit the boys in their new home they seemed quite pleased to see me but not nearly as please as Tony - their grandfather. He already lives at Werribee Zoo AND he is well aware of what time it's time for a feed! When he saw us on the back of the UTE with food he decided to come up and help himself. I couldn't stop laughing because he almost ate me as well as his food!
Make sure you watch this story it's definitely one of my favourites!
