G'day wilders! Col here from the TW office in South Australia. Being a TW Reporter isn't always about searching out wildlife and bringing you cool stories about animals.
Oh no, sometimes I get asked to do more adventurous things like ride a camel or beat Tess to the top of a rock climbing wall (well, technically she beat me but let's not harp on that story!).
This week I was challenged a group of kids at the YMCA Glenhaven Park in Adelaide to swing on a "Giant Rope" and take the "Leap of Faith".
Now normally I'm pretty good with heights, but I have to admit it was a little scary when the kids pulled me up to the top of the Giant Rope - it is 12.5 metres above the ground after all. This activity is all about trust and it was up to the kids when they let go and let me swing.
Next up was the Leap of Faith and just between you and me, I wasn't looking forward to it! I had to climb up to the top of a pole and jump off – into mid air – and grab hold of the trapeze. I had a safety harness on of course but jumping off a perfectly good pole goes against everything your brain is telling you!
You'll have to tune into Totally Wild to find out how I went with these adventures – needless to say I ended the day with all my limbs in tact but it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be!
Don't forget if you have a great idea for a TW story you can email us and we'll look into it.
Stay wild,
Col
