This week I returned home (Queensland) to do some links with Pipsqueak and catch up with all of my Totally Wild mates.
The hardest thing about moving to a new state is coming home seeing all those familiar faces and being reminded of the life you left behind. But it didn't take Pippers and the crew long to make me feel right at home.
We spent the day filming at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast and I have to say that it was the most fun I have ever had on a shoot! Pipster and I got to cuddle a koala, feed a croc and play with the most adorable tiger cubs. But the best part of the day was trying to gross out my co- presenter!
Just before we went to film a link with a bilby, Shane (the cameraman) politely informed me that I had a booger up my nose. He asked me to get rid of it but instead I replied "let's see if Pip will get rid of it for me". So we started our link and Pippers pointed out that the bilby had a cleaner nose than I - unfortunately you couldn't really see the booger that well through the camera, but it was big Wilders! I'm talking the size of a 5c piece!!! Sooo, I tried wrestling her finger into my nose but she wouldn't have a bar of it and the bilby soon grew tired of these antics. Time to move on, I thought.
The end of the day was fast approaching and we had a link to do after Pipsqueak had shorn a sheep. I was in charge of the wool pile and Pippy told me not to throw any of it on her during the link. To be honest, the thought hadn't even crossed my mind, but one of my Totally Wild golden rules is "If Pip says not to do something, do it!" So, halfway through the link I decided to cover her in week old mouldy wet sheep's wool and Wilders, you should have heard her scream!!! I think her screams could be heard over the brave folk riding the Tower of Terror!
I'm back in Adelaide now, ready to get stuck into some awesome South Australian stories, but I'm a little concerned about my friendship with Pip - she still hasn't returned my calls ;-p
Keep it real Wilders! Col
