This week it's all about sound as we go behind the scenes to discover what the TW sound recordist in Adelaide gets up to on film shoots....
Hi, my name is Chris and I am the sound guy who is part of the South Australian TW crew.
You don't normally see me as I work behind the camera to ensure that you can always hear Tess and Colin nice and clearly. But saying that, I will be making a brief appearance in some stories that are going to hit your TV screens this week!
Colin's on a road trip to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia – we filmed seven stories in the outback including riding camels, shearing sheep and we even find a new friend on the side of the road.
Being part of the Totally Wild crew is the best job in the world!! We get to work in different places and meet some amazing people while on the road. It's also fun to have a good laugh at Tess and Colin when they have a go at trying out some weird and wacky things!
One time Tess had to get knee deep in poo – I kid you not! We were filming at a waste management factory. Luckily she was wearing wellies but "phoorrr" she whiffed in the car on the way back to the office.
One of my favourite days filming was a recent trip I did with Colin. We were doing a story on snakes and I got to hold one for the very first time (a big carpet python). I got a big injection of confidence from this and also learned how to be safe around them.
That's it from me - don't forget if you see us on the road, come and say hello – and DON'T MISS Totally Wild all this week – it's Colin's road trip around the South Australian Outback :)
