Meet the Team
Your Thursday Night Live hosts and commentators
Bill Woods
Bill is the captain of the Thursday Night Live team. He's the anchor of the panel, and is well known to have an opinion on just about everything!
Bill's sporting knowledge is second to none, his comedy knowledge is not quite as exceptional… but we applaud him for trying.
Liz Ellis
Australian captain and legendary player, Liz Ellis bowed out of the sport on a high after leading the national team to World Championships glory in Auckland in November 2007.
Revered as a fearless, tenacious and inspirational defender, Liz is no different when it comes to offering her opinions on sporting goings on, or firing up in an argument with her fellow TNL panelists.
Nicole Livingtson
Nicole may be known as a legend of the swimming pool, but few will know her love for all sports, especially baseball!
One of our greatest backstrokers in Australian Swimming history, Nicole Livingstone (formerly Stevenson) was a member of the Australian swimming team for twelve consecutive years from 1985 - 1996.
Mark Howard
If Thursday Night Live was a cricket team, Mark Howard would be our all-rounder. Making runs in the middle order, bowling out batsmen and taking catches in the deep.
Howie is our man with his finger on the pulse in EVERYTHING even remotely sports related. Whether it be a dog on the field in the Indian Premier League, or a kangaroo entertaining itself at the golf!
When it comes to AFL, Howie is on the ball with the ins and the outs in team selection, plus the more unusual sights in the game. He also takes great pleasure in ribbing his co-host Luke Darcy, but has been known to cop an occasional elbow or a fish hook to the mouth! Howie is also the host of TNL's unique Harvey Norman quiz.
Adam Hawse
When he's not doing the league rounds for TEN News, Adam Hawse is our man to talk NRL on Thursday Night Live.
With a background in print journalism at Rugby League Week then Sydney's Sunday Telegraph, Adam made the move to TV in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength. He's hosted the sport on TEN News, and also presented Sports Tonight.
Adam plays cricket in the summer, but according to the man himself, the only downside to working on TNL is that it's forced him into early retirement from his touch football team.
Joel Caine
Joel has a history in rugby league, having played for the St. George Dragons, Balmain Tigers and West Tigers in the NRL, in 2000 he was the competitions leading points scorer. In the English Super League he played for London Broncos and Salford City Reds.
The man our panelists like to call "Sugar" is our resident bookie, with all the odds that matter courtesy of our betting partners www.sportsbet.com.au
Joel says he would have made it in the AFL, if he was twice the height but instead he makes a living as a garden gnome… he is available for short term rents for garden work!
