Psychiatrist and writer, Tanveer Ahmed, was born in Bangladesh but grew up in Toongabbie, a working class suburb in Sydney’s west. Today he discusses what it was like growing up in Australia and tells us about his funny memoir, An Exotic Rissole, in which he traces the influences of the mixture of cultures he grew up with.

John Aiken
No relationship is perfect, and everyone has to compromise but some relationship issues are deal breakers - things you simply can’t compromise on. A deal breaker can be anything from your partner not wanting to have kids to snoring or smoking.
Relationship psychologist John Aiken says too many couples go into marriage thinking they can change the thing they don’t like about the other person – he says this is a mistake, a deal breaker is not something you can work through. John explains how to avoid these situations in the first place.

Emma Hogan tells us about her wonderful new fundraising initiative, The Amazing People Project. Participants are invited to do the amazing things they’ve always wanted to do while raising money for five deserving charities; Starlight, Careflight, Reach Out, Youngcare and Cure Cancer. The project aims to raise $250,000 by 11 December 2011 and is already well on its way to reaching this target with almost $100,000 raised.
