Stacey Currie
Stacey Currie, a whiz business woman with a beautiful stable family, has defied the odds to achieve happiness and fulfilment in life. The odds were stacked against Stacey when she was brought up with no mother, in a housing commission home. She was sexually assaulted at age 9, pregnant at age 15, had 2 babies by the age of 19 and 3 by the age of 21. She also found herself trapped in a violent relationship. Remarkably Stacey has managed to triumph over all this adversity and turn her life around. She is now 32 and is an ambassador for Bravehearts – the charity that works to prevent child sexual assault. Stacey joins us shaere her incredible story and to drive home the message of the importance of protecting our children from sexual assault.
Today is White Balloon Day, a national awareness and fundraising campaign staged by Bravehearts. White Balloon Day is not only a day of recognition, awareness and support for the victims of child sexual assault but is also the principle fundraising initiative which enables Bravehearts to educate, empower and protect all Aussie kids.
