Paul De Gelder
On February 11 2009, while working as a clearance diver on Sydney Harbour, Able seaman, Paul de Gelder was attacked by a shark and subsequently lost his right leg and hand. The initial loss of these limbs was painful to deal with both mentally and physically, but it was the pain of rehab, and the ongoing frustrations of phantom limb pains that added to Paul’s torment. Having spent 10 years in the military Paul was determined to get his life back and has now written a book about his experience - No Time for Fear. Paul joins us to share his inspiring story.
