Why You Should Op Shop

-You never have to queue at the op shop, and often the conversation between the two little old ladies behind the counter is more entertaining than a night at the movies.

-Your clothing is unique and often an interesting conversation starter.

-Recycling, helps reduce our carbon footprint.

-The thrill of the chase - you never know what amazing bargain lies around the corner.

-Op shopping saves you money.

-It's good to support your community and charity organizations.

- Dress Ups, the perfect cure for a sad day, or anyone in need of some laughter.

Handy Hints When Op Shopping

-Always go to charity op shops, such as Salvos, Vinnies, Goodwill etc. The smaller vintage shops ones tend to be boutique style and can charge you $100 for a vintage dress. If you're tight on time this is ok, but if you can find your local church op shop that is run by three old ladies knitting in the corner, BINGO you have struck gold!

-Go for good patterns, good quality materials and either classic or flattering cuts. Shoulder pads, pleats in pants and box suits went out and should stay out. It's best to go back a few decades. Last season will always look like last season.

-Always know the versatility of your wardrobe, and have a good base of accessories.

- Don’t be scared to get clothing altered. A well altered secondhand suit will still be cheaper than a new one.

- If you think it's a 'maybe', it's a 'no',
