Ingredients

Serves 4-6

Prep time: 10 minutes 
Cooking time: 45 minutes 


2 tbsp oil
500g chuck steak, trimmed and cubed
4 rashers bacon, sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 cup (150g) mushrooms, sliced
2 cups water
1/3 cup Gravox Roast Meat Gravy Mix
2 sheets readymade puff pastry, cut into 7cm rounds
1 egg, lightly beaten

Method


Heat oil in a frypan, add steak and cook until browned.

Add bacon, onion, garlic and mushrooms, cook for 2-3 minutes.

Gradually stir in water and Gravox, bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.

Transfer into a 1 litre ovenproof dish. Cover with overlapping pastry rounds. Brush with egg.

Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden.
