Serves 4-6Wonderful enjoyed straight from the box, this recipe is best when made with Vacherin Mont D'Or or Mont D'Or, but when these are out of season you can substitute l'Edel de Cleron or Clarines.
Method
Set the oven to 200°C.
Place the cheese in its box in cold water for 10 minutes. Remove the wooden lid and cover the top of the cheese with two or three teaspoons of white wine. Put the lid back on and heat in the oven until the cheese becomes runny, about twenty minutes.
Serve at the table with hot crusty bread to dip into it, or use as a sauce poured over hot boiled potatoes.
