With a background in news, current affairs, travel, entertainment, science, education and professional singing, Gorgi is one of the most well rounded and experienced media personalities in Australia.
During her four year stint at the Nine Network, Gorgi worked as a reporter for various National Nine News bulletins in Melbourne. Her skills saw her quickly advance to a more prominent on-air role as travel reporter for the Today Show touring locations throughout Australia and the world including South America, the United States and Canada. In addition to her role on Today, Gorgi was involved in the Nine’s live horse racing coverage, including the Sydney Cup (Randwick) and the Blue Diamond Stakes (Caulfield). She hosted the Nine Network’s live New Year’s Eve coverage and has presented on the network’s national real estate show My Home.
In 2010 Gorgi worked as a co-creator, writer and producer on ‘thetest.com.au', a national online health test for all Australians. 'The Test' has more than 90 000 members across Australia and is one of the most successful online health tests ever conducted. Gorgi continues to work behind the scenes and produces 'The Test' monthly newsletters, inspiring people to become happier and healthier.
Gorgi holds a Bachelor of Science (majoring in pharmacology and zoology) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) specialising in biology and science, both from Monash University. Gorgi taught four years of secondary college from 1999 to 2003 and managed and coordinated 240 students at year levels 9, 10 and V.C.E. Gorgi’s teaching responsibilities included Year 12 Biology, Year 11 Biology, Years 7-10 Science and Forensic Science.
Gorgi is renowned as a classically trained singer and professional stage performer. Viewers have delighted in her performances on the prestigious Channel 9 CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT (2006, 2007, 2008) and Channel Nine's Singing Bee and ABBAMANIA.
2003 was a big year for Gorgi, she was hand-picked by Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor for the smash hit Queen / Ben Elton musical 'We Will Rock You’. Gorgi played the understudy to the lead role 'OZ for the nine-month run in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre. Following that she performed with David Campbell at the Melbourne Arts Centre in the Production Company season of the musical 'Carousel'.
Gorgi grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria on a sheep farm. She is a former state level equestrian competitor in eventing and dressage.
In 2006, Gorgi released her first solo album 'Edward', which was dedicated to her late grandfather who inspired her love of singing and music.
Married in October 2009, Gorgi and her husband enjoy entertaining family and friends with 'home-cooked' feasts at their home in Ballarat, and were delighted to announce the early arrival of little Molly-Rose in December 2010.
