Raye Colbey & Rick McPhee
The new SBS doco-series, Go Back To Where You Came From, has blasted open the debate on Refugees in Australia. The series followed six ordinary Aussies, all from different walks of life and with different strongly held views on refugees and asylum seekers, as they undertook a confronting 25 day journey, tracing in reverse the journeys that refugees have taken to reach Australia. Today, we’re joined by Raye Colbey, whose views on Refugees have been challenged and changed by her participation in the series, and one of the producers, Rick McPhee, who travelled with Raye throughout the journey.
Australians touched by SBS’s ground-breaking documentary series Go Back To Where You Came From can continue the important conversation about refugees and asylum seekers when SBS airs a special forum television event on Tuesday June 28 on SBS ONE at 8.30pm.
Host Anton Enus will join the participants Adam, Gleny, Raye, Raquel, Darren, Roderick and their family and friends for the forum event. The remainder of the audience will be sourced from the many Australians who engaged in the lively debate on various social media platforms as the series went to air.
