Before the paparazzi, Hollywood stars were made famous from portrait photographs released by the studio. Seen as disposable publicity shots, the negatives of these photos were saved from the rubbish tip by a Hollywood historian, John Kobal, and the best of these images are on view at an exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
