Three ways to ensure a pro fake tan job at home:
1. For zero patchiness and double the longevity, you must exfoliate your skin before you tan: Stand in the shower with the taps off, and massage a salt or sugar scrub all over your dry skin. Turn on shower and rinse off.
2. Put moisturiser on dry bits like the hands, feet, knees and elbows (to prevent the tan ‘grabbing’) and put some Vaseline/Paw Paw/8-hour Cream on your fingernails, toenails and cuticles.
3. Once you’re done applying your tanning product, go over your palms, in between fingers and toes, the bottom of your feet, your ears and nose with a wipe.

Handy hint that is for tanning emergencies only: If you do get a (really sexy!) build up of tanner on the ankles or wrists or knees, and no amount of lemon or bicarb soda will remove it, use a Chux magic eraser gently to remove it.
