The Wedge has an array of new characters joining all the Wedgedale favourites from the premiere season.  Amongst the returning characters will be Wedge TV's own Sandra Sultry, replacement teacher Art Cooney, Jack Farmer, apologising sportsman Mark Warey, Lucy Webster, the newest star of the YouTube revolution and of course Fat Mandi who returns in her very own reality TV series. 

 

Joining the talented creative team for series 2 are some of the biggest names in Australian comedy including director Kevin Carlin, acclaimed playwright and script editor Matt Cameron, veteran series producer Michael Horrocks and writer Gary McCaffrie.

 

The Wedge will return revised and refreshed in 2007, but it will retain all of the charm that found favour with TV audiences in 2006.  With shooting to commence next week Executive Producer Andy McIntyre was very upbeat about the prospects of The Wedge in 2007... "Doing a second season is fantastic...with such strong support from Network Ten and the TV audience in 2006 we are working hard to build upon the success of the show as we move into production for next year.  We've tweaked the production team and brought a few heavy hitters on board to take the show to the next level.  We've also got a brilliant young cast returning with the benefit of a full season's experience and a collective determination to make The Wedge Australia's favourite home grown sketch comedy series".
