A Prominent Identity
As Network Ten's Entertainment Reporter, Angela Bishop is able to combine her passion and expertise for the arts and current affairs on a daily basis. In an industry well known for its ever-changing nature, Angela has established herself as a prominent identity within the international entertainment media.
Her first involvement in the entertainment industry was in Law and Med revues at the University of New South Wales, while studying a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Political Science and Drama). A serious player in student politics, she served as the first female Chairman of the Student Union.
In 1989 Angela joined Network Ten in Sydney as a news reporter. Since then she has reported for a number of prominent network programs including Sydney with Mike Gibson, HINCH and Alan Jones Live before being appointed Network Entertainment Reporter in 1994. Angela was the resident Entertainment Reporter on E! NEWS in 1999 and was a regular guest on The Panel and Good Morning Australia.
Career highlights include exclusive interviews with Russell Crowe, Rupert Murdoch, Sean Connery, Robert Duvall, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Rowan Atkinson, U2, Kylie Minogue, Ron Howard, Julia Roberts and one of the last interviews with screen icon, Audrey Hepburn.
Using her extensive film and television knowledge Angela has hosted a number of Network Ten specials including From Jaws to the Deep Blue Sea, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Mama Mia, It's Abba! and Inside the Matrix.
In addition to entertainment reports on TEN News, Angela presents her weekly national entertainment wrap on TEN's 11am national bulletin each Thursday.
Away from the television cameras, Angela can be heard behind the microphone at Sydney's top-rating 2GB, where she presents regular entertainment reports, and has co-hosted the popular weekend drive program with Jason Morrison.
Angela is also a committed and active member of the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation and Pink Ribbon Ball committee.
Angela married Peter Baikie in May 2005 and in October 2007 they welcomed their beautiful daughter Amelia.
