Bad boy and orphan of The OC, Ryan has been taken in by the Cohens and focuses on the future, fighting the forces that pull him back into his old life.Ben McKenzieBen McKenzie, who plays Ryan Atwood on The OC, was born and raised in Texas. Following his graduation from the University of Virginia, where he majored in foreign affairs and economics, he moved to New York to pursue acting. While in New York, McKenzie appeared off Broadway in Life is a Dream, at the Soho Repertory Theatre. Additionally, he performed in numerous productions at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, including Street Scene and The Blue Bird, and at the University of Virginia, in Measure for Measure and Zoo Story, before moving to Los Angeles and landing the lead role in The OC. He recently starred in the critically acclaimed independent ensemble drama film Junebug, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and 88 Minutes, starring opposite Al Pacino and Amy Brenneman. |
