Rob Canning
Rob Canning is a journalist and presenter who has been with Sports Tonight since 2000.
Rob briefly worked with WIN TV in Orange after completing a bachelor of arts in communications with a major in broadcast journalism from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. He was quick to return to his home town of Sydney.
At just 22 years old, Rob became the youngest person to anchor Sports Tonight. More recently the 29 year-old has presented Sports Tonight on a regular basis, hosting the Friday night and 5:30pm weekend editions.
Rob has covered a number of memorable Australian and international sporting events taking him from San Francisco with the Red Bull Air Race to France for the Rugby World Cup. He also covered Melbourne's Commonwealth Games in 2006 and on a broader scale regularly reports on a variety of sporting events.
More recently Rob has stepped into a commentary role with TEN's coverage of the national beach volleyball series. He also called all of the action for the 2008 City to Surf.
Rob is an active sports person who likes to swim, cycle and run.
Other hobbies include camping with his wife Kristin and playing with their two boy cats Lenny and Valentino.
