Natarsha Belling is one of the best known news presenters on Australian television. She read her first international news bulletin at just 21 and now has more than a decade of experience reporting and breaking some of the nation’s biggest stories.
A journalist first and foremost, her passion for news, warmth and sincerity have seen the mother of two enjoy a meteoric rise in a highly competitive industry.
In 2011 Natarsha was promoted to present Network Ten's Evening News (Friday and Saturday nights) and also continue in her well respected role fronting the innovative one-hour national 9am bulletin. The award winning journalist anchored the Network’s rolling coverage of the recent Queensland flood and Cyclone Yasi disasters, conducting more than 40 live interviews and updates over a four hour period. Late last year Natarsha also fronted the Network’s live coverage of one of the world’s greatest ever rescue stories, as 33 Chilean miners defied the odds and were brought to safety.
Natarsha's admirable talent and diversity have also seen the news presenter step up her appearances on the Network's key programmes, including The Circle and The 7pm Project. In 2010 Natarsha fulfilled a life-long dream, working on a prime-time documentary. Delivering the Pandas showed the incredible story of Wang Wang and Funi and the challenging journey to transport the endangered pandas from the remote mountains of South West China to Adelaide Zoo.
Natarsha started her prestigious journalism career as an on the road reporter in regional NSW, after completing a Bachelor of Communications Degree at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. After just 12 months with Prime Television in Orange, the ABC poached Natarsha to take up a key journalism position with their newsroom in Darwin. During this time, the budding young journalist was at the forefront of reporting on the controversial euthanasia debate and also discovered her love of news reading. At just 21 Natarsha presented her first bulletin for both ABC News and the Australia Television News Service, which was beamed to millions of viewers throughout Australia and Asia.
In 1998, Natarsha was again poached, this time by Network Ten to join its newsroom in Sydney. During that time, Natarsha has cemented her position as a key National journalist and presenter for all the Network's Major news bulletins, including the Morning, 5pm, Late and Weekend services.
Like her passion for journalism, Natarsha is passionate about helping those in need. As a mother of two young sons, Natarsha has stepped up her commitment to a number of prestigious charities. She is heavily involved with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, sits on the Advisory Board for the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre and is a National Ambassador for the Cancer Council and the Bonnie Babes Foundation.
Natarsha is also sought after MC, with a wealth of experience. She has hosted a variety of prestigious events from International Women’s Day at Parliament House in Canberra, to Australia Day Live Celebrations with a crowd of more than 200,000 in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
In 2006 and 2008 Natarsha announced what she sees as her biggest achievements to date, the births of her beautiful sons Harrison and Hugo. This life changing role now gives her invaluable insight into many of the issues confronting Australian families and the constant challenge of the work/life juggle.
