Danielle began her journalism career as a cadet reporter with Network Ten in Townsville while completing her last year of high school.
She relocated to Brisbane after she was offered a position as a general news reporter at TEN in 2001.
During her time there, Danielle juggled reporting with studying, and completed a Bachelor of Economics at the University of Queensland in 2005.
She worked as a court reporter, and often filled in as the state parliament reporter - and acted as the Queensland Health inquiry reporter, which allowed her to travel extensively and cover the complete overhaul of the state’s health system.
For her efforts, Danielle was awarded a Network Ten state reporter (Queensland) award in 2005, and made the move to TEN's Canberra Bureau as a political reporter.
2006, also proved a huge year career-wise as Danielle filled in as TEN's LA Correspondent at TEN's LA Bureau, completed a coveted CNN internship in the USA and was then promoted to TEN's Sydney offices as a national network reporter in 2007.
Throughout her time at TEN Sydney, Danielle covered a range of stories and counts as a career highlight, travelling to Iraq for a series of special reports.
Danielle also filled in as a Ten Early News presenter, allowing her to draw on her economics degree to report breaking finance news from across the globe.
In October 2007, Danielle was posted to TEN's London Bureau as TEN's first Europe Correspondent. She travelled extensively during this foreign posting, including throughout England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, as well as Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, France, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Copenhagen and Bulgaria to cover a wide range of international news and sports stories for TEN’s national bulletins.
Her sports coverage included Australia’s ill fated 2009 Ashes campaign, and the Wallabies Rugby Spring Tours.
As well as covering Europe, Danielle was recruited to cover the US election from Phoenix, Arizona to report on the McCain/Palin camp defeat, and was sent to the border of Gaza and Israel, to cover the January 2009 conflict. It was for this series of stories, she won Network Ten’s National News Reporter of the Year Award in 2009.
Returning to Australia at the end of 2010, Danielle is now based back in the Sydney newsroom where she covers a wide range of stories for 6.30 with George Negus. Already this year she has travelled extensively across Australia reporting on the QLD floods and cyclones, and in New Zealand on the devastating Christchurch earthquake.
