Peter Berner – Comedian

Peter Berner was much loved as the host of the cult favorite ABC’s Einstein Factor which ran for 6 series. He also created multi Logie nominated satirical comedy Back Berner for the ABC. This year he has been writing and starring in You Have Been Watching for the Comedy Channel.

Darren Hayes – singer, songwriter

As front man and singer of the enormously internationally successful rock band Savage Garden, Darren Hayes has certainly proven his appeal. Between 1996 and 2001 Savage Garden sold an astronomical 23 million albums. Now based in the UK, Darren is back in Australia to promote his latest solo album Secret Codes and Battleships.

Maude Garrett - Broadcaster

Best known as the much loved face of Nickelodeon, Maude Garrett also reviews Nintendo games for the Nintendo Wii Channel, hosts the gaming show Save Point TV on OneHD and Game Play series on pay TV. Maude also co-hosts the national Hot30 Countdown with Matty Acton each weeknight from 7.30pm on the Austereo radio network.

Lorraine Bayly - actor

Lorraine Bayly’s dignified portrayal of iconic Australian wife and mother Grace Sullivan in the period drama The Sullivans afforded her two Logies for Best Actress. She subsequently won a Logie for her talents in Carson’s Law where she played progressive solicitor Jennifer Carson.
Lorraine has also hosted Play School for 12 years, starred in 1915, The Challenge Grim Pickings and Through My Eyes. Such is her contribution to acting in Australia, she received an Order of Australia in 2001.

Craig McLachlan – actor

You may remember him as Henry Ramsay on Neighbours, but Craig McLachlan has forged ahead in leaps and bounds since those days he donned a mullet. Despite winning a Gold Logie as Henry, Craig tapped into his bottomless talents as a singer and musical stage performer. His song releases hit the tops of the UK and Australian charts. Furthermore, he won highly sought after roles on the London’s West End in Grease and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. So much so had he become a household name in the UK too, and he was a celebrity contestant in Dancing on Ice earlier this year. Not forgetting his roots, Craig has starred in the Australian version of Chicago and has made television appearances in City Homicide and Packed to the Rafters.

Jay Ryan – actor

Most recently setting the small screen alight as Dr. Fraser King on Offspring, Jay is most definitely a rising star. He has also had major roles in two other Australian dramas, Neighbours and Sea Patrol. Jay has also had international success, acting with the revered John Cleese in his stage show, while touring New Zealand and California.

Cornelia Francis - actor

Cornelia Francis brought Home and Away character Morag Bellingham into the hearts and homes of Australians for 23 years. Cornelia also famously uttered those bone-chilling words “You are the weakest link, goodbye” during her time as host of the similarly named show. She has also appeared in over 80 separate productions in the UK and Australia. Some include iconic television shows such as Matlock, Division 4, Homicide and Cop Shop.

Jimeoin – comedian

Irish born comedian Jimeoin is certainly a household name in Australia. He had his self titled show Jimeoin on television, which was nominated for a Logie in 1996. Jimeoin has also crossed into film. He wrote and starred in his own films The Craic and romantic comedy The Extra. The Craic’s opening weekend made it the second highest grossing box office movie in Australian-produced film history. Last year he completed the television series Jimeoin: Over The Top for Foxtel.

Natalie Tran – Online Broadcaster

As Australia’s most popular online broadcaster, Natalie Tran’s YouTube channel has a larger audience than most popular shows on Australia television shows. In her satirical, self depreciating videos, she plays all the characters, which look at everyday observations of your average Gen Y. Now turning mogul, she has embarked on some globe trotting adventures for Lonely Planet and reports for The 7pm Project Whip-around.

Francis Greenslade – actor

Established actor and comedian Francis Greenslade has starred in many Australian programs including most recently Winners and Losers. Other television credits include the hugely popular Full Frontal, Sea Change, Blue Heelers, Water Rats and The Games.
One this episode of TAYG you see the magic between Francis and Shaun Micallef. Being friends since they both studied Law at university, they have a decades long friendship as well as working together on many of Shaun’s projects - The Micallef P(r)ogram(me), Welcher & Welcher, Micallef Tonight and Shaun Micallef’s New Year’s Rave. Francis has also appeared on TAYG in the guise of a youthful sailor-boy.

Robyn Butler – comedic actor

Robyn Butler has written, directed and starred in the AFI award winning television comedy series The Librarians, alongside her husband Wayne Hope. Apart from the three series of The Librarians, this powerhouse couple has brought us the award wining shows Very Small Business and Stories from the Golf. Robyn Butler has worked closely with Shaun Micallef which is obvious from their onscreen raptor on this episode of TAYG. She has had major roles in his television shows including The Micallef Program and Welcher and Welcher where she played his onscreen business partner/wife.

Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond – Broadcaster

Now hosting her own national radio show on Nova Saturday Morning Monty, Monty Dimond has gone from strength to strength. Previous to going solo, she had been part of two popular Nova show trios on Nova: Ryan, Monty and Wippa and more recently Merrick, Dools and Monty. Recently, Monty has been a regular on the 7PM Project Friday night whip-around and The Circle.

Tiriel Mora – Actor

Tiriel Mora is most celebrated for his roles in The Castle as Dennis Denuto the incompetent lawyer representing the Kerrigan’s and Frontline as the hard nosed journalist Marty. Tiriel has also starred in the award winning dramas Seachange, Grass Roots and the soap spoof Shark Bay, to name a few. He also played Rene Rivkin in A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne. His film credits are extensive with box office hits Happy Feet, Crocodile Dundee in LA, King Kong and The Queen of the Damned.

Genevieve Morris – Actor

Industry award nominated actress Genevieve Morris has starred in a variety of sketch television shows including Comedy Inc; The Late Shift, where she shot to fame, and Ben Elton Live from Planet Earth. Genevieve has also thrived in extending her acting muscle to serious dramas including roles in City Homicide, Blue Heelers and MDA.

Patience Hodgson – Lead singer of The Grates

Charismatic and edgy, Patience Hodgson is the lead singer of home-grown band The Grates. Her energetic performances and musical prowess have been key to the band getting their first two albums into the Aria Top Ten as well as a plethora of Aria nominations. After relocating to New York for eighteen months, Patience and the band return to Australia with their latest album Secret Rituals.

Simon Burke – Actor, singer

International performer Simon Burke has starred in many of London’s West End musical productions including The Phantom of the Opera and The Sound of Music. His acting career took off at age 13, when he won an AFI for his role in the film The Devil’s Playground. From there, he had numerous roles in iconic Australian dramas including The Restless Years and The Young Doctors. However, he is arguably most loved at home for his 23 year stint as a popular presenter on Play School.

Wayne Hope – actor, comedian

Wayne Hope has written, directed and starred in the AFI award winning television comedy series The Librarians alongside his wife Robyn Butler. Apart from the three series of The Librarians this powerhouse couple has brought us the award wining shows Very Small Business and Stories from the Golf. Wayne has performed in many other Australian programs including Shaun Micallef’s The Micallef Program and Welcher and Welcher.

Paris Wells – singer, songwriter

Disco soul, funk and pop explode into amazing sounds at the hands of singer and songwriter Paris Wells. This talent was recognised by Justin Timberlake and she supported him during his Australian and New Zealand tour. She has also performed at all the Big Day Out, the Falls Festival and the Sydney Music Festival. Paris’ second album Various Small Fires has set music scene alight with her upbeat and soulful offerings.

Jay Laga’aia – Actor and Musician

New Zealand born actor, Jay Laga’aia is internationally recognized for his role as Captain Typho in the films Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Jay is also much loved by audiences at home as host of Play School. He currently appears on Home and Away and has also had major roles many other Australian productions including Water Rats and Bed of Roses.
Jay has recently expanded his talents, releasing two children’s albums. He was nominated for a 2008 ARIA for the first of these albums, Come Sing and Dance.


Jane Allsop – Actor

Jane Allsop won the hearts of Australians with her role as Jo Parish in Blue Heelers. This role awarded her the Most Popular New Female Talent Logie in 2000, which was followed by a nomination in 2005 for the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress. She has since had many major roles in Australian popular and acclaimed dramas including Rush, Last Man Standing and The King.


Gyton Grantley – Actor

Gyton Grantley’s standout performance in Underbelly propelled him to stardom in 2008. For this role as murdered drug king-pin Carl Williams, he won two Logies and an AFI. Gyton’s popularity led to him to host the 2009 ARIA awards with Gold Logie winning actress Kate Ritchie. His most recent feature film appearance was in the nail grinder thriller The Reef.

Series 3, Episode 10

John Blackman – Broadcaster
A show business career spanning nearly 40 years, John has achieved enormous recognition, mainly due to the 28 years he spent as the voice behind Hey Hey it’s Saturday.   He is now heard on 3GG Warragul, 6PR Perth and with Bruce and Phil on Melbourne’s 3AW.  John is also well known as the voice behind the very cheeky head on a stick ‘Dickie Knee’.  These days Dickie is in semi-retirement, but available for well paid national TV commercials, product endorsement and radio commercials! 

Kate Langbroek – Nova Breakfast show host
Much-loved Nova breakfast show host Kate Langbroek grew up in Queensland and is now based in Melbourne.  She has since become one of Australia’s most influential media personalities, starting off on Melbourne Radio Station Triple R before appearing on popular TV shows like ‘The Panel’. Her career has spanned popular prime-time TV shows, top-rating breakfast radio, acting, as well as a host of writing credits.

Sophie Monk - Singer & Actor
This Queensland girl has come a long way since working as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator at Warner Bros Movie World.  Sophie first came to National attention when she appeared in the reality show ‘Popstars’ and as a result was selected for the all-girl pop group Bardot.  Now based in L.A. Sophie’s Hollywood career has taken off with appearances in many films including Date Movie, Click, Spring Breakdown, The Hills Run Red and the TV series Entourage.

Bill Hunter – Actor
Bill has come a long way since his first acting job in the Ava Gardner/Fred Astaire movie ‘On the Beach’.  With a career spanning over five decades, Bill Hunter is now widely regarded as one of Australia’s acting legends.  He has starred in over fifty feature films, of which his most notable movie roles include GALLIPOLI, SCALES OF JUSTICE, FRONTLINE, NEWSFRONT, STRICTLY BALLROOM, MURIEL’S WEDDING and THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Among many accolades Bill was given The Centenary Medal for Service to Acting in 2003.
 
George Calombaris – Masterchef
As one of Australia's top chefs, George’s highly influential style of cuisine has earned him many accolades (at such a young age) and much respect from culinary aficionados in Australia and around the globe.  He was just 27 years old when he opened his flagship restaurant The Press Club Restaurant and Bar (in Melbourne).  Many restaurants have followed with his sixth due to open by the end of this year.  George returns to Masterchef Australia soon, as well as releasing new cook books and launching a new supermarket product range.

Celia Pacquola – Comedian & Actor
Celia first burst onto the Melbourne comedy scene in 2006 when she was crowned ‘Raw Recruit’ in the prestigious Raw Comedy open mic competition as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.  Celia continues to perform stand up around the world, including London, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.  Celia recently starred in the ABC black comedy LAID as E.J.

 

Series3, Episode 8

Jeff Stilson – Comedian, Producer
American comedian Jeff Stilson is familiar to Australian audiences through his many appearances on The Panel.  An Emmy-winning comedy writer Jeff has worked on many successful American shows including Da Ali G Show, The Chris Rock Show, The Osbournes and Newlyweds.  His twenty year stand-up career has included regular appearances on Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Leno and The Late Show with Craig Ferguson.  Now living in Australia, Jeff is appearing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in ROBBINS, STILSON AND MOLLOY from the 19th to the 24th April at the Melbourne Town Hall.


Andrew Gaze – One HD basketball commentator
Andrew is Australia’s greatest ever basketballer. He has won the National Basketball League (NBL) scoring title a record 10 times as well as being awarded the NBL’s Most Valuable Award 7 times.  A five times Olympian (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000), Andrew was the Flag Bearer and Team Captain for the Australian team at the Sydney Olympics.  Andrew will be commentating on the NBL Finals Series running throughout April live and Exclusive on ONE HD.

Brooke McClymont – Country and Western Singer
Brooke is the lead singer of the sister band ‘The McClymonts’ who have become the hottest new act in Australian country music. The McClymonts were awarded the 2010 ARIA for Best Country Album and at the Australian Country Music Awards earlier this year the girls took home the award for ‘Group or Duo of the Year’, their sixth Golden Guitar.  The McClymonts will be touring Australia until the end of May and their latest album, ‘Wrapped up Good’ is available now.


 

Season 3, Episode 7

Noni Hazlehurst – Actor
The much loved Play School presenter, Better Homes and Gardens host and celebrated film, theatre and TV actor has one of the most wide-ranging portfolios in the business.  Noni has most recently been starring in ‘City Homicide’ as Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley.  She was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 1995 Queen’s New Years Honours List for her services to the performing arts as an actor, director and presenter of children’s television programs.

Rebecca De Unamuno – Actor
Rebecca is a comedian, actor, radio host, voice-over artiste and improvisation star, having been a member of the Australia team that won the Improv World Cup at the 2001 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.  She recently worked with Robin Williams, Hank Azaria and Elijah Wood on the soon- to-be-released animated film Happy Feet 2.  Rebecca has also performed with Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander when toured throughout Australia.

Matt Lee – Choreographer & Musical Theatre Performer
Dance choreographer extraordinaire Matt Lee is currently starring in the hugely successful stage musical Mary Poppins as the chimney sweeper Bert.  Matt has previously been a judge on Network Ten's ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and has appeared in the smash-hit movies ‘Bootmen’ and then ‘Happy Feet’, as the voice of Mumble the penguin.  Mary Poppins is currently playing in Melbourne until April 1 and then moves to Sydney from May 5 and previews from April 15. 

 

Season 3, Episode 6

John Waters – Actor/Musician
Much loved actor John Waters plays the charming, devoted and passionate Darcy Proudman, father to the Proudman grown-up children in Offspring.
John recently reprised his role as John Lennon in his stage show Looking Through a Glass Onion; he started touring with the show last year and is continuing to tour the country this year.  John’s first album of original material Cloudland will be released later in the year.

Arj Barker – Comedian
Since winning the coveted Perrier Best Newcomer Award in 1997, Californian comic Arj has firmly established himself as one of the golden boys on the international comedy circuit.  He has returned to Australia with his new show ‘Eleven, sometimes 10 just isn’t enough’ in which he tackles 11 of the most controversial topics around, including 3D movies, Death, Google Maps and prawns!  Arj will be performing at the Brisbane Comedy Festival until March 20, 2011, and then the Gold Coast.  Arj’s Melbourne Comedy Festival dates are from 31th March to 24th April.

Laura Dundovic – Model & Foxtel Host
Laura is a beauty pageant title holder who won Miss Australia in 2008 and placed top ten in the Miss Universe 2008 competition, which was held in Vietnam.  She is host of Foxtel’s TV show Dating in the Dark and is an ambassador for Myer, recently representing the company at the G’Day USA gala event.  She has also been the face of clothing designer Charlie Brown and International shoe label Steve Madden.

Harley Oliver – Amanda’s husband
Harley is a TV documentary producer and met Amanda when they were both working on Beyond 2000.  They celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary this year.  They saw an Indiana Jones film on their very first date and then went out for dinner at a Thai Restaurant.  Amanda and Harley have two sons, Liam and Jack.


Suzie Pickering – Charlie’s sister
Suzie is Charlie’s older sister and works as a Public Servant.  She has many fond memories of their adventures together as kids including ‘journey hunts’ on their bikes, dressing their dogs in dolls clothes, roller skating around the garage, cubby house meetings under the stairs and playing Queen of Froth and King of Water at bath time.  Suzie is incredibly proud of Charlie for ‘living his dream’.


Mona Hale – Josh’s Grandmother
Mona is Josh’s maternal Grand mother, and she has a total of thirteen grand children, eight great grand children and two more on the way.  She cherishes her grandson Josh and has wonderful memories of Josh holidaying with her every Christmas and venturing to Brisbane for Grandparents Day at primary school.  At eighty three years of age, Grandma Mona is still as sharp as a tack and willing to give anything a go, as you will see in her episode.

 

Series 3, Episode 4

Penny Cook – Actor
Penny is fondly recognised for her many roles in some of Australia’s most popular TV shows, the first of which was The Restless Years and then playing veterinarian Vicky Dean in A Country Practice.  Other TV roles include The Flying Doctors, E Street, G.P. and Neighbors in the recurring role of Prue Brown.  Along with her theatre work as both an actor and director Penny is in huge demand as an MC and has hosted events for Prince Charles and former US President Bill Clinton.

Kris Smith – Model
Former English Rugby League player Kris Smith calls Australia home now, since meeting Dannii Minogue and becoming a father to their baby boy Ethan.  When Kris arrived in the country a couple of years ago, he was quickly snapped up by Chadwicks modeling agency and secured an ongoing role with Myer.  Kris also co-hosted Foxtel’s Football Superstar and The Australian Fashion Awards and was a guest co-host on Australia’s Next Top Model.

Mike Posner – Singer/Songwriter/Producer
American singer/ songwriter Mike Posner shot to international fame last year with his enormously successful single, ‘Cooler Than Me’, which he wrote, produced and recorded in his dormitory at Duke University.  Originally released as a mixtape on iTunesU, which sparked a bidding war between record companies, Mike continued with his Uni between gigs and graduated with a degree in sociology.  His current album is ‘31 Minutes to take Off’.

 

Season 3, Episode 3

Judith McGrath – Actor
Older Australian audiences will remember Judith as tough but fair ‘screw’ and Deputy Governor Colleen “Po Face” Powell in Prisoner, which will be screened soon on Foxtel’s 111 Hits.  Judith most recently played patient liaison nurse Yvonne ‘Von’ Ryan on All Saints; she was the only original cast member to stay with the series until it concluded in 2009.

Todd Woodbridge – Former Tennis Champion & Davis Cup Coach
Todd is the most successful doubles player in tennis history winning a total of 83 career titles, a record nine Wimbledon’s and 22 Grand Slam titles.  His primary doubles partner was the other “Woodie” Mark Woodforde, and later Swede Jonas Bjorkman.  Todd is the current Davis Cup coach.


Danny Clayton – Channel [V] Host
Danny is a [V] J on Foxtel’s Channel [V], and currently delivers the newest and hottest clips as voted by Channel [V] viewers in [V] Rater. He also co-hosts Channel [V]’s weekly LIVE pop culture show, The Riff every Thursday at 4.30pm.  Danny was “spotted” by Channel [V] at an Australian Idol audition when he grabbed the microphone from a crowd-warmer and took over the warm-up.

Ita Buttrose – Business Woman, Journalist, Author
A media icon, Ita has had a distinguished media career including 23 years with Australian Consolidated Press which involved creating Cleo Magazine and later becoming Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly. Ita made media history when she became the first woman to ever edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia when Rupert Murdoch appointed her Editor-in-Chief of the Daily & Sunday Telegraphs.  Also a prolific author, Ita’s 10th book A GUIDE TO AUSTRALIAN ETIQUETTE is available in all good book stores.


Robyn Butler – Actor & Writer
Best known for her starring role as head librarian Frances O’Brien in the ABC comedy series The Librarians, Robyn created and wrote the successful series with her husband Wayne Hope.  Together they also created Stories from the Golf and produced Very Small Business.  With a background in stand-up comedy, Robyn has continued to make people laugh appearing in the films BoyTown and Crackerjack and other TV shows including Small Tales & True, Welcher and Welcher and The Murray Whelan Series.


Rob Mills – Singer/Performer
Rob first came to the Nation’s attention in 2003 when he came 5th in the first series of Australian Idol.  He has since become a successful musical theatre performer starring in Grease – The Arena Spectacular as the pop star idol ‘Johnny Casino’ and playing Claude in the Perth production of Hair.  In 2008 he landed the role of the playboy Prince, Fiyero in Wicked.   Rob is currently pursuing his acting career and would like to tread the boards of the West End and Broadway.

 

Season 3, Episode 1

Kevin Harrington – Actor
Much-loved as the endearing Kevin Findlay on Seachange, Kevin Harrington is also an accomplished stage and screen actor, making his feature film debut in The Dish.  On Neighbors he was Harold Bishop’s son David Bishop and more recently played the role of Moran family patriarch Lewis Moran in the first series of Underbelly.  Kevin is also an experienced stand-up comedian and wrote, directed and starred in his own Comedy Festival Show; Guess Whose Mum's Got a Willy?

Julia Zemiro – RocKwiz Host and Actor
A multi-talented performer, Julia is best known as host of the cult SBS music trivia show RocKwiz, which is about to embark on its eighth season and another National Tour.  A graduate of VCA (Victorian College of the Arts) and a trained improviser, Julia’s theatre, film and television work spans all genres from drama to comedy.  Recent TV work includes hosting the 2009 AFI Awards, the 2010 APRA Awards, Lowdown, So Frenchy, So Chic and Sex: An Unnatural History.  Last year Julia travelled to Oslo for the Eurovision Song Contest and will this year journey to Düsseldorf, Germany to host the Australian coverage.

Leisel Jones – Olympic Swimmer
At just 25 years of age, Leisel Jones is the world’s greatest ever female breaststroker.  Her professional career includes 12 individual world records; 8 Olympic medals (3 x Gold; 4 x Silver; 1 x Bronze); 7 World Championship titles; 10 Commonwealth Games gold medals and 22 National titles.  Leisel has just commenced an 18 month Olympic preparation cycle to compete at the 2012 London Olympics.  Away from swimming, Leisel will soon be opening her new water-themed day spa, Vie d’Amour at the Docklands in Melbourne.

 

Season 2, Episode 26

Series favourite Hamish Blake returns to the TBYG arena for a Christmas extravaganza along with ABC First Tuesday Book Club host Jennifer Byrne and popular satirist Chas Licciardello from The Chaser.  Set in Santa’s workshop and featuring special cameo appearances, this show is a Christmas treat the whole family can enjoy.

Season 2, Episode 25

Michael Veitch – Comedian/radio broadcaster
After several decades in television sketch comedy, playing such roles as the ABC TV Sunday Arts presenter, someone at the ABC thought, for a bet, that it would be a funny idea to give Michael Veitch that very same role but for real. Michael remained in the job for five years before someone cottoned on and he was shifted to radio, where he now presents the breakfast programme for ABC 936 Hobart.  He has also lately turned his attention to more serious pursuits, writing two books on Second World War aviation.

Eddie Perfect – Actor/Musician
Eddie is well known as the creator and star of ‘Shane Warne The Musical’, which picked up a Green Room Award, a Helpmann Award and the 2009 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Best Music Theatre Script.  An experienced composer, musical director, cabaret performer, actor and comedian, Eddie is currently playing Mick Holland in Offspring.  His other TV credits include Kath and Kim, Stingers, Blue Heelers, MDA, Spicks and Specks and Sideshow.  Known especially for his political comedy, Eddie's theatre credits include ‘Keating! The Musical’, ‘The Big Con’ and ‘Drink Pepsi, Bitch!’.

Lucy McIntosh – Model
Wodonga girl Lucy McIntosh travels the globe fulfilling her modeling commitments and has recently been the face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.  She is a huge fan of ABBA and as a teenage girl had a huge crush on Freddie Mercury and had Marilyn Manson posters on her bedroom walls.  Lucy is now engaged to Black Eyed Peas’ DJ Poet Name Life, who she met last year when the Peas were touring Australia. 

Season 2, Episode 24

HG Nelson – Comedian
One half of the comedy duo ‘Roy & HG’ they launched their careers as satirical sports pundits on Triple J in 1986 and now present ‘The Life’ on Triple M radio Mondays and Fridays from 4pm.  Their TV broadcasts include Club Buggery, The Channel Nine Show, Planet Norwich, The Monday Dump, The Nation Dumps, Roy & H.G.'s Spring Carnival, The Cream and The Memphis Trousers. Their Olympic broadcasts became hugely popular with The Dream (from the Sydney 200 Olympics), The Ice Dream and The Dream in Athens.


Chrissie Swan – The Circle Host
Much-loved 2003 Big Brother runner-up Chrissie is now one of the presenters on the Ten Network all-female morning talk show The Circle.  Chrissie is also the latest celebrity ambassador of Jenny Craig, having taken on the challenge to lose 40 kg by the middle of next year.  When Chrissie left the Big Brother house with winner Reggie Bird, she did breakfast radio on the Sunshine Coast and then for Melbourne radio station Vega.


Tim Blackwell – Radio host
Originally from Hobart Tim has worked his way up in the radio world and is currently heard on Brisbane’s breakfast radio station NOVA 106.9 with Meshell Laurie and Marty Sheargold.   He also has his own national music show on Nova on Sunday evenings.  Tim is currently seen on The 7pm Project doing the Friday night Metro whip around for Brisbane.

Glynn Nicholas - Comedian
Actor, mime artist, musician and all-round comedy star Glynn Nicholas started off his career as Humphrey B Bear’s sidekick on Channel Nine.  He has since produced and starred in various internationally successful stage shows including Glynn with a Why?, Kissing Frogs and Certified Male, to name a few.  On TV he introduced us to the adorable Pate Biscuit and Bongo on The Big Gig and produced The Glynn Nicholas Show for the ABC.  His current business ‘The Glynn Nicholas Group’ creates award winning and internationally touring stage shows.

Claudia Karvan – Actor
One of Australia’s most recognisable and acclaimed actors, Claudia also produced, created and starred in the award-winning series Love My Way and now the new critically acclaimed Foxtel series Spirited. The AFI and Silver Logie winner also starred in TV’s The Secret Life of Us and the SBS drama Saved, plus films High Tide, The Big Steal, The Heartbreak Kid, Paperback Hero and Daybreakers opposite Ethan Hawke.


Rai Thistlethwayte – Musician
Rai is the lead singer and primary song writer of multi-platinum selling, ARIA and APRA nominated rock band Thirsty Merc.  Mousetrap Heart is Thirsty Merc’s third studio album and is available now. The band’s previous popular hits include Emancipate Myself, In the Summertime, Someday Someday, 20 Good Reasons and The Hard Way.   The band is currently on the road for their National Spring Tour.

Kathy Lette – Writer
Kathy first achieved great success as a 19-year-old with her first novel Puberty Blues, which was made into a major motion picture by Oscar winning director Bruce Beresford.  After several years as a singer with the Salami Sisters, a newspaper columnist in Sydney and New York and a television sit com writer for Columbia Pictures, Kathy returned to writing books and has since published many International best sellers.  Her latest book is titled ‘Men – A Users Guide’.   

Angus Sampson – Actor
Actor and all-round theatre sports and comedy star Angus played The Bull in Spike Jonze’s blockbuster Where the Wild Things Are. The lovable larrikin has also appeared in The Secret Life of Us, Greeks on the Roof, ABC music show Recovery, Stingers, Underbelly, Kokoda, Spirited, Wilfred, The Nation and The Librarians.  Film credits include The King as Ugly Dave Gray, You and Your Stupid Mate, Summer Coda and the soon to be released animated 3D film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
 
Camille Keenan – Actor
New Zealand actor Camille is best known for her role as Amy Parsons the hooker in the Showtime TV series Satisfaction.  She traded her stilettos for a pair of comfortable shoes to play intelligence officer Audrey Khoo in Network’s Ten’s police drama Rush.  Other TV credits include City Homicide, Insiders Guide to Love, Sensing Murder 2 and Burying Brian.

Merv Hughes – Former Australian cricketer
Former Australian cricketer and crowd favourite Merv Hughes played 53 Tests, made 1032 runs and took 212 Test wickets.  On the field Merv was a lively character armed with an imposing run-up and delivery action, a classic fast bowlers' glare down the pitch, and he still possesses that mischievous sense of humour and a moustache of incredible proportions.  Since retirement Merv has been a bowling coach with a number of Victorian teams and is now a national selector.  

Deborah Mailman – Actor
Australians first fell in love with Deb when she starred as Kelly in four seasons of the successful series,  TheSecret Life of Us.  The AFI winner and two-time Silver Logie winner is currently starring in Offspring as new mum Cherie Butterfield.  A very popular Playschool host, Deb is also an accomplished theatre performer and has appeared in many Australian films including Radiance, Dear Claudia, The Monkey’s Mask, Rabbit Proof Fence, The Book of Revelation, The Lucky Miles and Bran Nue Dae.

Maude Garrett – TV Presenter
A self-confessed ‘chic-geek’ Maude is an official ‘games aficionado’ with expertise in all things gaming.  She currently writes the Gaming column in Dolly Magazine and is a presenter on Nintendo’s on-line video games channel.    Maude was host of Nickelodeon’s Logie-award-winning Children’s show Camp Orange.

Season 2, Episode 19

Mark Trevorrow – Comedian
He is the creator of iconic Australian character Bob Downe, host of the fictional ‘70s TV show ‘Good Morning Murwillumbah’.  Along with meeting the Queen, Bob has hosted the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras broadcast, toured internationally to sell-out audiences, released albums and hosted UK TV specials.  Meantime, we’ve been seeing much more of Mark himself: as host of the ABC series ‘The Way We Were’, on ‘Kath and Kim’ and as a solo cabaret performer.

Clare Bowditch – Singer

Clare is an award winning singer-songwriter from Melbourne, who is well-known for being armed on stage with an array of odd instruments, (it extends to using objects such as teapots and bottles to create sound effects).  Winner of the Best Female Artist award at the 2006 ARIAs, Clare is currently touring throughout the country and her latest album ‘Modern Day Addiction’ is available now.

Josh Lawson – Actor/comedian

As an actor Josh has starred in the high seas drama Sea Patrol and comedy The Librarians and more recently in Wilfred and the tele-movie Hawke. The comedian has also landed a role in the US comedy series Romantically Challenged opposite Alyssa Milano and now divides his time between LA and Australia.  Film credits include Boytown and The Wedding Party.

Jean Kitson – Comedian/Actor
Australia first fell in love with Jean when she appeared on THE BIG GIG as a comic chameleon, with characters as differing as lovelorn newsreader Veronica Glenhuntley, Candida the new-age aerobics instructor and flight attendant Rose McLeod.  An accomplished comedian, actress and writer, Jean Kittson is an Australian comedy legend.

Todd Sampson – The Gruen Transfer
Canadian born entrepreneur Todd Sampson is the CEO of Leo Burnett Advertising Agency and a regular panellist on the ABC’s ‘The Gruen Transfer’.
He is the co-creator of the 2009 Earth Hour initiative which involved 1 billion people participating in over 4000 cities around the world.  The Financial Review ranked Todd as the most influential advertising executive in Australia and in his spare time he has climbed to the top of Mount Everest.


Faustina Agolley – Video Hits Host
Fuzzy has been the face of Network Ten’s weekend music show ‘Video Hits’ for the last four years.  Her very first job was working at McDonalds when she was 14 and with her $4 an hour wage she was able to buy a ticket to her first ever gig which was the 2000 Red Hot Chilli Peppers Californication Tour concert.  She now has unlimited access to the pop, rock and urban

Denise Scott - Writer/ Comedian
Much-loved comedian Denise (aka “Scotty”) has been making people laugh since she started in the business in the early ‘80s. She continues to tour her hugely successful stage show ‘Number 26’, which is based on her first book, ‘All That Happened at Number 26’.  Denise is currently a regular panel member on the 7pm Project.
Bob Franklin – Comedian/Actor
British born comedian and actor Bob Franklin has lived in Australia since 1989.  He’s appeared on many Australian TV shows starting with Jimeoin, Shaun Micallef’s World Around Him, The Eric Bana Show, The Mick Molloy Show, Thank God You’re Here and most recently in the ABC series, ‘The Librarians’.  Bob has written a collection of dark stories called ‘Understones’.

Lincoln Lewis – Actor
Brisbane boy Lincoln Lewis played Geoff Campbell on ‘Home and Away’ for which he won a Logie for Best New Male Talent in 2008.  Lincoln stars in the new Australian film ‘Tomorrow: When The War Began’, based on the best-selling novels by John Marsden. 
Lincoln is the son of former Rugby League legend Wally Lewis.

Steve Vizard – Media Personality
A former Carey Grammar student, Steve is an accomplished writer, performer, lawyer, program creator and producer and now radio broadcaster on Melbourne’s new Talk Radio Station MTR 1377.  After practicing as a corporate lawyer for eight years, Steve appeared on ‘Fast Forward’ playing the popular characters Darryl the Steward and Fakari rug salesman Roger Ramshett.  He was also host of ‘Tonight Live with Steve Vizard’.


Kate Langbroek – Radio Broadcaster
Much-loved Nova breakfast show host Kate Langbroek grew up in Queensland and went to Salisbury High.  She has since become one of Australia’s most influential media personalities, starting off on Melbourne Radio Station Triple R before appearing on popular TV shows like ‘The Panel’. Her career has spanned popular prime-time TV shows, top-rating breakfast radio, acting, as well as a host of writing credits.

Andy Lee – Comedian
The former Camberwell Grammar student is currently heard on the top rating drive-time radio station program ‘Hamish and Andy’ on the Austereo network.  Andy experienced an action packed year touring around the UK and Ireland on the ‘Caravan of Courage’ trip and having his front teeth smashed in an ice hockey match!

Jeff Green - Comedian

Award-winning British comedian Jeff Green has become a well known face and voice on Australian TV and radio since arriving for his first Melbourne International Comedy Festival performance here in 1996. Amongst his many Australian TV credits are Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, The Glass House as well as numerous appearances on the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala. Jeff has written three best-selling books, The A-Z of Living Together, The A-Z of Being Single and The A-Z of Having a Baby.

 

Megan Gale - Model & Actress
This Internationally acclaimed model has just released her swimwear line ‘Isola by Megan Gale’.  Isola [Italian for island] is the swimwear range born out of Megan’s passion for the beach. She has been the face of David Jones since 2001 and since leaving the catwalk, has ventured into acting.  Megan recently appeared in the Australian film ‘I Love You Too’ as Italian supermodel Francesca Moretti.

 

Jason Smith - Actor
Much-loved as the endearing and geeky Robbie Hunter on Home and Away, Jason has received Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for "Fave TV Star" & "Fave Pash".  In 2008 Jason got to play a super-hero when he was cast as the red Power Ranger in Power Rangers Jungle Fury. 

Episode 14 - Series 2

Alex Perry – Fashion Designer
Alex is one of Australia’s premier couturier and the designer ‘du jour’ for celebrity red-carpet evening wear.  Since opening his first Sydney-based atelier in 1992, Alex has established himself as a designer of unquestionable talent and desirability with his breathtaking gowns.   He is the only judge to appear in all six series of Australia’s ‘Next Top Model’.

Frank Woodley – Comedian
Best known as one half of the Perrier Award-winning comedy duo, Lano and Woodley, Frank has mastered the art of tapping into his inner child, making it his comedy trademark.  Frank continues to tour nationally and internationally, picking up many awards along the way. 

Gin Wigmore – Musician
New Zealand girl Gin Wigmore is a gifted songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist.  Her big break was at age 16 when she became the youngest person ever to win the US-based International Songwriting Contest with her acoustic ballad HALLELUJAH. Her debut album HOLY SMOKE, recorded at Capitol Studios in the US is out now.

Liam Oliver – Amanda Keller’s son

Liam is Amanda’s nine year old son and is in Grade 3.  His interests include Rugby Union and Lego and he would like to play Rugby Union professionally when he grows up.  The thing he loves most about his mum is her ‘big heart’.  His favourite family moment is sitting down with his mum, dad and little brother to enjoy TAYG every Sunday night.


Pamela Pickering – Charlie’s Mum

Pamela Pickering is a retired Pharmacist, who met her husband at Pharmacy College.  Pamela’s current interests include learning languages, travelling and playing Bridge.  Pamela lovingly recalls the times when a young Charlie would dress-up in costumes to watch his favourite TV shows – his Batman outfit for the Batman cartoons and army fatigues for MASH.  Punky Brewster was a challenge!  Their favourite family show was ALF.


Drew Thomas – Josh’s brother

Drew Thomas is three years older than his brother Josh, but they have been mistaken for twins most of their life.  Drew is a first year psychology student, having previously dabbled in customer service and the fashion industry.  The brothers now live in separate States so keep in contact on-line and always manage to argue over the most trivial matters.

Bill Bailey - Comedian / Actor

U.K born Bill Bailey has entertained audiences for many years as a stand-up comedian, musician and actor. He is best known as team captain on the celebrity game show Never Mind The Buzzcocks and of course enormously popular comedies such as ABC TV’s Black Books.  Bill has just completed a sell-out tour throughout Australia and his DVD box set The Inevitable Boxset is available now.


Rodger Corser - Actor

Actor Rodger Corser is currently starring in the third series of Southern Star/Network Ten’s RUSH as Senior Sergeant Lawson Blake. An accomplished actor Rodger has had lead roles in Stingers, Water Rats and the critically acclaimed first series of Underbelly as Detective Steve Owen. Rodger will also be starring alongside Claudia Karvan in the new Foxtel drama, Spirited.

Ella Hooper - Musician

Violet Town musician Ella Hooper was first introduced to us as the lead singer of the band Killing Heidi. As winner of ARIA awards and APRA 2001 Songwriter of the Year, the band is best known for its biggest hits ‘Mascara,’ ‘Live Without It’ and ‘Weir.’  Ella has reformed as The Verses with her older brother, Jesse Hooper and their debut album Seasons is out August 13.

William McInnes – Actor/Writer
Much-loved as Max Connors on Seachange, William has played everything from a country cop to an Australian Prime Minister.   An accomplished stage and screen actor, William is also a prolific writer and his latest book, The Making of Modern Australia, draws on the memories of ordinary Australians to reveal profound social and cultural shifts in Australian life since 1945. 

Jimeoin - Comedian
Born in Belfast, stand-up comedian Jimeoin has had successful television shows, films and National tours since arriving in Australia twenty two years ago.  He wrote and starred in his debut feature film The Craic, and the romantic comedy The Extra.  He is currently on tour with his latest stand-up show called Something Smells Funny and will be in Tasmania in October; 7th October - Hobart Wrest Point Casino; 8th October -Launceston Country Club Casino and 9th October - Devonport Entertainment Centre.

Ricki-Lee Coulter – Singer
Queensland girl Ricki-Lee quickly shot to fame as a contestant on Australian Idol in 2004.  She returned to Australian Idol as part of the hosting team in 2008 and 2009.  She has just released her third studio album Hear No, See No, Speak No and her hit song Can’t Touch It has been used in the Sex and The City 2 movie trailer.  Ricki-Lee is currently heard on breakfast radio station 96.9 in Sydney with Merrick Watts and Scott Dooley.

Graeme Blundell – Actor/ Writer
Australia first fell in love with Graeme as bawdy, ‘70s film and TV character Alvin Purple. An accomplished actor and theatre director, Graeme’s also starred in films Don’s Party, The Odd Angry Shot, The Year My Voice Broke, Idiot Box, plus appeared as Padme’s father in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. A published author, Graeme currently writes for The Australian newspaper.

David Campbell – Singer
Much-loved singer, musical theatre and cabaret star David has achieved two Top 10 albums (The Swing Sessions I and II) + sold-out national concert tours. David's also starred as Johnny O’Keefe in the musical Shout! He supported Tom Jones on his 2010 Australian tour and his latest album is a mix of hits from Broadway.

Natalie Hunter – Totally Wild
Melbourne girl Nat is a presenter on Network Ten kids' wildlife show Totally Wild. Nat's currently starring in the Act4Nature campaign alongside a fur seal called Tarwin to celebrate International Year of Biodiversity. She's also had an acting role in Stingers and starred in Shaun Micallef’s New Year’s Rave 2010.

Georgie Parker – Actor
Best known for her work as nurse Lucy Gardiner in A Country Practice (1988-1992) and hospital nun Terri Sullivan in All Saints (1998-2005), Georgie has won an incredible seven Logies. She’s a two-time Gold Logie winner (2001/ 02) + has scored five Silver. The mum-of-one regularly parties on Play School, with The Wiggles, and has released her own children’s album.

Julian Morrow – The Chaser
Comedian and TV producer Julian is best known as one of the five writer/ presenters on ABC TV’s The Chaser’s War On Everything (2006-09). Teased for having been ‘born a middle-aged man’, Julian was relieved to find out he is, in fact, Gen X. Because he wears glasses, people credit him as being the brains behind The Chaser (he’s the Executive Producer).

Matthew Mitcham – Olympic Diver
Sports darling Matthew is the 2008 Olympic Dive champion, winning Gold in Beijing. He received the highest single-dive score (112) in Olympic history. Matthew's winning dive is rated the sport’s most difficult – a back 2½ somersaults with 2½ twists in the pike position. He’s the first Australian male to win an Olympic gold medal in diving since Dick Eve at the 1924 Summer Olympics.

Brian Mannix – Uncanny X-Men
In the ‘80s, Australia was mad for the extroverted, mullet-haired frontman Brian from Uncanny X-Men. Uncanny X-Men were especially huge between 1983-86, with hits 50 Years, Everybody Wants to Work, Party and How Do You Get Your Kicks? More recently, Brian wrote and directed the hugely successful, live stage production Countdown -The Musical Comedy.

Marieke Hardy – Writer/ TV Presenter
Best known as Triple J breakfast radio co-host nationally (with Robbie Buck and ‘The Doctor’), Marieke recently left Triple J to concentrate on writing. Marieke has penned scripts for Neighbours, All Together Now, :30 Seconds, Always Greener, Last Man Standing and many more. She is a regular panelist on the ABC’s First Tuesday Book Club.

Guy Sebastian – Singer
Guy is Australia’s first (in 2003) and most successful Australian Idol winner. He's gone on to carve out a chart-smashing and acclaimed solo career – the only Australian male vocalist to have four number 1 singles (one behind John Farnham’s record). Guy has sold over 1.5 million CDs in Australia alone. He’s currently promoting his latest (and fifth studio) album – Like It Like That.

Basil Brush – Famous Fox
International star Basil is cheeky, irreverent and charming, but most of all he’s incredibly foxy. Basil has celebrated over 40 years in entertainment, with his program The Basil Brush Show™ running for an incredible 14 series during the 60s and 70s, pulling in audiences of around 12 million, and being sold into more than 14 countries worldwide. In 2006 Basil’s show was BAFTA nominated and voted the best comedy on the BBC.

Joe Hockey – Shadow Treasurer
First elected to the seat of North Sydney in 1996, Joe became one of the youngest ministers in the history of the Commonwealth. He was appointed Shadow Treasurer in February 2009. The former banking and finance lawyer is a passionate footy fan, his biggest fashion regret is a sky-blue safari suit (to match his dad’s), and growing up his favourite band was Promises ‘because of their great one-hit-wonder ‘Baby It’s You’.

Jolene Anderson – Actor
As the sexy, sweet-natured nurse Erica Templeton on medical drama All Saints, Jolene earned a Logie nomination in 2007 for Most Popular New Female Talent. That year she also found her voice on singing show It Takes Two, taking out the competition with her partner David Campbell. Nowadays the small-screen sweetheart is making pulses race as Shannon Henry on Network Ten’s adrenalin-packed cop show Rush.

John Wood – Actor
Well-respected and much-loved screen and stage actor John is best known for playing Senior Sgt Tom Croydon in the long-running police drama Blue Heelers (1994-2006) and as Magistrate Michael Rafferty in the ABC’s Rafferty’s Rules (1987-1990). In 2006 John won the Gold Logie after nine consecutive nominations. In his acceptance speech he joked, “Too much, too soon!”

Natalie Bassingthwaighte – Actor/ Singer/ Presenter
After finding fame as bad girl Izzy Hoyland on Neighbours, two-time Gold Logie nominee Natalie has amassed many strings to her bow. Achieving phenomenal success in music, both as lead vocalist with electro-pop outfit Rogue Traders and as a solo artist, Nat is also the host of So You Think You Can Dance Australia, and is about to be seen in Underbelly: The Golden Mile.

Darren McMullen – MTV
Cheeky Scot Darren is MTV’s rock’n’roll-style rogue. The host of weekly live music show “The Lair”, Darren is known as a ladies man who boasts several celebrity “conquests” – The Veronicas (both of them), Pamela Anderson, Audrina Partridge from The Hills and The Pussycat Dolls (he’s ‘too gentlemanly to tell which one/s’.) A 2008 Cleo Bachelor of the Year finalist, Darren is also the face of Pepsi.

Red Symons – Entertainer

Cynical, acid-tongued and snarling – that’s the type of audience Red has had to put up with for years. As guitarist in legendary 70s supergroup Skyhooks, Red helped spawn
hits Living in the Seventies, Women in Uniform and Ego (Is Not a Dirty Word). He’s the current breakfast announcer on ABC 774 Melbourne, but mostly he’s the villainous gong master we love to hate on Hey Hey It’s Saturday!

Kate Ritchie – Actor

Kate won hearts as Sally Fletcher in Home & Away, a role she played for 20 years, putting her in the record books. The two-time, Gold Logie winner gained critical acclaim
as gangster’s wife Judi Kane in Underbelly – A Tale of Two Cities, and was a NOVA 96.9 announcer with Merrick & Watts. Kate’s about to be seen in the police drama Cops LAC.

Sammy J – Comedian

Rising comic star Sammy J describes himself as “58 kilograms of pure entertainment”. Sammy took out Best Newcomer at the 2006 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has performed all over Australia, Britain and Edinburgh. Wikipedia cites Sammy’s comic influences as Tony Martin, The Mighty Boosh, Ross Noble and Shaun Micallef. It’s that kind of blatant sucking up that scored him a spot on the show.

Pete Rowsthorn – Actor/ Comedian
Show favourite Pete’s first appearance on TBYG saw him perform his famous ET impression alongside Gen X guest Dylan Lewis, then triumph at the ‘Building a Sandcastle’ End Game to take home the trophy. 2009 also saw Pete compete on Celebrity MasterChef, where his signature dish - rack of lamb - helped him make it to Episode 6.


Ronan Keating – Singer
International superstar Ronan boasts global sales of 22 million albums, plus holds the Guinness Book of Records listing for being the only artist ever to have 30 consecutive top 10 singles in the UK chart (beating the likes of Elvis and The Beatles!) As part of the chart-topping band Boyzone, Ronan also boasts four number one albums and a record-breaking 16 consecutive, top five singles.


Stephanie Gilmore – World Surf Champion
Just 22, current and three-time ASP World Champion Steph has already carved new records in world surfing. Steph made history by taking her third, consecutive women’s world title in Oahu, Hawaii in November 2009. She’s the only surfer (male or female) in history to have taken the ASP crown every single year they’ve competed. Steph is now chasing fellow Aussie Layne Beachley’s seven world titles.

George Negus - Journalist / Host / Author

Current-affairs supremo (and TV Week sex symbol!) George is best known for his work on Sixty Minutes (1979-86) and Foreign Correspondent (1992-99). He currently hosts Dateline on SBS. The Logie-winning reporter has interviewed musical geniuses Bob Marley, Geldof and Dylan, Hollywood legends Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, plus has chatted with political heavyweights Reverend Jesse Jackson, Al Gore, and Margaret Thatcher. Patience Hodgson - Lead Singer, The Grates

Bubbly, intelligent and charismatic, Brisbane-born Patience is the energetic front woman of edgy, indie-rock band The Grates. Stephen Curry - Actor / Comedian

Melbourne-born actor and funnyman Stephen is best known for his lead film roles including playing Graham Kennedy in The King (2007), and as lovable son Dale Kerrigan in The Castle (1997). Stephen won a 2007 Best Lead Actor AFI and 2008 Silver Logie for Outstanding Actor for The King (which also starred TAYG’s own Shaun Micallef as GTV9 station manager Colin Bednall). Rebel Wilson - Actress / Comedian

TV favourite funny gal Rebel is best known for her hilarious characters Toula in TV show Pizza, Lucy & Fat Mandi in The Wedge and Jenny Cragg in Bogan Pride. Rebel rates the best thing about Gen X as the invention of hyper-coloured T-shirts; she played Sega Master System so much aged 13 she can no longer straighten her thumbs; she learnt num-chucking from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; and rejects Twitter as “too instant & trivial”. 2009 Gold Logie nominee Ian is best known as doddery, well-meaning, coffee-shop owner Harold Bishop on long-running soapie Neighbours. Nicknamed Smithy, Ian is the longest-serving member of the Neighbours cast, having played Harold Bishop since 1987 (2 years after the series began). Even so, he didn’t play the character continuously. He left the show from 1987-1991, before returning again in 1996-2009. On air, he disappeared mysteriously at sea, only to resurface with amnesia five years later. Ian hopes to return to theatre now that he’s finally left Neighbours.

Lawrence Leung - Comedian / TV Host

Sleeping in a bunk bed until the age of 24, it’s fair to say Lawrence has never been cool. He is, though, an award-winning comedian who has been performing internationally since 2001. Maeve Higgins - Irish Comedian

Irish comic Maeve is an “up and coming shop assistant by day and a stand-up comedian by night!” Every now and then a person wanders up to her and says "Hey you! Girls aren't funny!" To which she replies, "Oh yeah? Well, that's why I work in a clothes shop, buddy". Then they both depart, confused. Maeve’s show Kitten Brides received rave reviews at both the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival (her third time at the event) and in Edinburgh. Maeve has a regular radio slot in Ireland on Today FM, called "What would Maeve do?" which provides humorous advice to listeners’ questions.

Kirk Pengilly - INXS Member

Nicknamed “The Saxy Guitarist”, INXS founding member Kirk plays guitar, saxophone and performs backing vocals with the Australian supergroup. At their 1980s peak, INXS were the biggest band in the world. Album sales have exceeded 30 million, they topped the world charts, sold out stadiums globally and were the only Oz band asked to play Live Aid (1985). Kirk is currently engaged to surf champion Layne Beachley (the pair announced their engagement in November 2008 after 6 years together). He has one daughter, April-Rose, who is making her name on the fashion circuit.

Kat Stewart - Actor

2009 Silver Logie winner Kat is best known for playing gutter-mouth Roberta Williams (wife of Melbourne gangland figure Carl) in TVs Underbelly. Kat also received the 2008 Best Lead Actress AFI for the role. Kat regularly appeared with Shaun Micallef on SBS hit Newstopia and is about to star in the new ABC series 30 Seconds about the advertising industry. Rhys Uhlich - Model / Clothing Designer

One-time Melbourne PE teacher Rhys is best-known as the inaugural winner of reality TV’s Make Me a Supermodel (in November 2008) and a 2009 Cleo Bachelor of the Year nominee. The self-confessed, guitar-playing “laidback surfer” has just launched his own, street-wear clothing label Boche Collection. He’s now hoping to make it big on the catwalks of New York. Rhys’s many challenges on Make Me a Supermodel included swimming with pythons, being suspended metres in the air and stuffing bread down his shorts for the sake of an aesthetically-pleasing package (he says he “didn’t need too much bread, thank you, only half a loaf..”)

Matt Welsh - Olympic & Commonwealth Games Swim Champ
One-time world number one Matt is one of Australia’s best-loved swim champs. Benita Collings - Former Play School host/ Actress

A Play School host for 30 years, every child (and those who used to be children) knows Benita. She has been a presenter with Play School since 1969 and occasionally still tours Play School Concerts (live performances around Australia). Benita started her career at The Independent Theatre  in the mid-1950s, studying under Doris Fitton’s supervision along with people like Reg Livermore and Owen Weingott. She also took ballet early on in life, and then jazz ballet with Ronnie Arnold. In 1960 she joined the Ensemble Theatre, where Benita learned all the different “roles” of the theater: stage managing, props, sound, lighting, front of house, as well as playing in the productions.  Some of the plays she was in included lead roles in Neil Simon’s “The Last of t he Red Hot Lovers”, directed by Jon Ewing. She also toured with “Absurd Person Singular” and “Doctor in the House” and played for two years at The Music Hall in Neutral Bay. Benita worked on commercials and small roles in TV dramas, graduating to roles in “ Division 4” and “Homicide”. Many other roles followed - “Rafferty ’s Rules” (a Hungarian white witch), “A Country Practice” (a child basher), “The Restless Years” , (an alcoholic), and “The Sullivans” (a French/Egyptian whore). The movies she’s been involved with include “Hold the Circus”, Return to Eden” and “Sun Struck ”. Benita’s recordings include nine albums and CDs, mainly for Play School and recently, The West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Education Chamber Orchestra, narrating and singing. She worked as a narrator with The Sydney, Tasmanian and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, The Sydney Youth Orchestra and The West Australian Symphony Orchestra. More recently she was MC for the Southerland Shire Brass Band on “Meet the Brass”, and also MC for the Sutherland Shire’s Australia Day 2000;  “Opera on the Beach”. Benita has also appeared in Carols in the Domain and more recently “The Micallef Program”, “The James O’Loghlin Show”, “Backberner”, “Rove” and  “Pizza 2”. She has just completed concerts for the Tasmanian Symphony orchestra, again as narrator, and her own, live stage show “Benita and The Bears”.

Kram - Musician and Funky Mover

Spiderbait's garrulous drummer, Kram, remembers well what he was like at the age of 15: "I was very pimply and a complete jock with a huge mullet," he admits. Thankfully, having arrived at the same age, Spiderbait itself is in somewhat better shape. In 2004 the rockin' trio enjoyed the first number one Australian single of an already illustrious career with their high-octane cover of Huddie Ledbetter's "Black Betty". Today, Spiderbait remains a blistering live proposition: Kram flailing at his drums, Janet resolutely slamming her bass and Whitt coaxing out waves of noise from his guitar. Guitar anthems ="Buy Me A Pony" - #1 on JJJ's 1996 Hottest 100), metal mayhem ("Sam Gribbles"), the best song the Jackson 5 never recorded ("Stevie"), moshpit madness ("Calypso") and a fitting tribute to the genius of The Goodies ("Run"). With three talented songwriters, Spiderbait have never been confined by genre or the expectations of others.

Alyssa Sutherland - International Model/ Actress

Alyssa Sutherland has confirmed her status as one of the world’s most beautiful women, starring in the international advertising campaign for Chanel cosmetics (after  catching the eye of Karl Lagerfeld – fashion’s most powerful man) and with a burgeoning film career. Nick-named for scoffing buckets of fried chicken before a live gig, lovable musician Greedy is best known as a vocalist, keyboardist and songwriter with Australian pop/R&B band Mental As Anything.  'The Mentals' are currently celebrating three decades of hits with their 30 year anniversary CD Essential as Anything.  Greedy's favourite TV shows were The Samurai, Phantom Agents, The Addams Family, Video Village, The Mavis Brampton Show and Get Smart and he was obsessed by Marianne Faithfull and Count Dracula!

Sophie Lee - Actor/Author

Able to reduce (mostly male) crowds to jelly with a single blink, Newcastle-born actor, author and columnist Sophie Lee is best known for her roles in iconic Aussie films Muriel's Wedding (1994) and The Castle (1997).  Sophie published her debut novel Alice in La La Land in 2008 and writes a fortnightly column in the Sunday News Ltd. Magazine.  Growing up Sophie embraced grunge and hip hop, loved eating home-made bread, reading and The Smiths, NWA and David Bowie.  She didn't have a TV and now regrets wearing cycle shorts, crushed velvet, chunky medallions and fluorescent cat suits!

Matt Lee - Choreographer/SYTYCD Judge

Dance choreographer extraordinaire Matt may be best known as a judge of Network Ten's So You Think You Can Dance, but his fancy footwork has enhanced plenty more.  Matt has created funky moves for major pop acts such as sister2sister, 5ive and Human Nature.  He's appeared in the smash-hit Bootmen (2000) alongside fellow guest Sophie Lee (no relation!) and is currently working on George Miller's animated sequel Happy Feet 2 being shot in Sydney.

Jonathan Coleman - Radio Host

One half of the much loved radio duo Jono & Danno, Jonathan began as a reports on Simon Townsend's Wonder World in the 80s before becoming radio's hottest property.  Jono moved to London in 1990 for 16 years where he secured a weekly radio listenership of 2.5 million before returning home to Sydney in 2006.  He currently broadcasts nationally-syndicated show My Generation on Gold FM and the resurrected The Jono & Dano Show in ARN.  Jono names his biggest loves as music, movies, food … and himself!

Tim Rogers - You Am I Front-man

Dynamic, edgy and in-your-face, You Am I front-man Tim is responsible for THE soundtrack of his generation.  The West Australian-born, rock superstar is a self-confessed "scruffy buccaneer of rock". You Am I were the Oz supergroup of the 1990s and the first Australian band to have three albums successively debut at #1 on the ARIA charts.  They've supported the Rolling Stones, The Who, Oasis, The Strokes and Soundgarden.  Tim also carved a stellar reputation as a solo artist and actor.  His other loves include AFL and cricket.

Gracie Otto - Film-maker/Actress

Born to the famous Otto acting clan (her father is Strictly Ballroom's Barry and sister is Lord of the Rings' star Miranda), Gracie is fast becoming one of Australian film's brightest young stars.  Just 22, Gracie has already directed four short films, appeared in the critically-acclaimed Three Blind Mice and is writing her first feature.  The sports lover has also represented Australia in Futsal (indoor soccer) and NSW in softball, and cites 60s icon Twiggy as her fashion inspiration.

Rove McManus - TV Host

Cassie Davis - Pop Sensation

Sassy, new Australian artist Cassie is one of the new breed of young artists who isn't just a writer and singer, but a multi-instrumental and studio-savvy producer.  Cassie's debut single 'Like It Loud' has reached gold status selling over 35,000 units and garnered 650,000 hits on You Tube.  With the Black Eyed Peas, Pink and Snoop Dog all fans, Cassie's debut album 'Differently' is set for release later this year.

Tony Martin - Writer/ Comedian

Comedian, writer and TV & radio star Tony was born in New Zealand and shot to fame as one half of the daily, national radio comedy duo Martin and Molloy (1995-1998). For five years (1987-1991) Tony wrote and performed on Melbourne radio's "D-Generation Breakfast Show" and later hosted "Get This" (2006-2007) on Australia's Triple-M radio network. New Zealand born Tony also wrote and directed feature film Bad Eggs, has cameo-ed in a host of others and is the author of two books. Tony most admires about his generation “the fact we’ll all be dead before everything turns into Mad Max 2”.

Kate Langbroek - NOVA Radio

Best known as a NOVA 100 announcer (one half of Hughesy & Kate, 6-9am weekdays in Melbourne), Queensland-born Kate “sadly” embraced everything from her Gen (X) – “from tulle skirts to multiple piercings”. Currently pregnant with her fourth child, the much-loved media personality gained notoriety for breast-feeding live-to-air on TV show The Panel.  Kate has a degree in Journalism and has written for TV shows like All Together Now and Neighbours (in which she also appeared, along with the bare-all, classic Chances!) Her first celebrity crush was (Powderfinger lead singer) Bernard Fanning, the first movie she saw was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and her friends can’t believe she’s obsessed by – feet!

Margot Robbie - Actress

18-year-old actress Margot plays bad-girl with a heart of gold Donna Freedman on Network Ten soapie Neighbours. The Gold Coast local and relative newcomer to acting was nominated for a Silver Logie for Best New Female Talent at the 2009 Logies. This is despite only having acted professionally since 2007. She’s starred in two feature films, I.C.U. and Vigilante, plus has acted in TV commercials and had a guest role in City Homicide in 2008. Denise (aka “Scotty”) has been treading the boards for longer than she cares to remember, making her one the country's strongest, live comic performers. Since her start in the biz in the early 1980s, Scotty has been making people laugh with her blend of personal stories and topical observations. Denise was part of the Vega 91.5 FM breakfast radio show (Dave and Denise with Shaun Micallef) until November 2007. She most recently received rave reviews at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for her show Number 26, which was based on her recently published memoir – All That Happened at Number 26.

Sam Johnson - Actor

Best known for playing unlikely heart-throb ‘Evan’ in the critically-acclaimed series The Secret Life of Us (Network Ten, 2001-05),and currently seen in high-octane series Rush, Samuel is one of Australia’s most-loved actors. Sam recently appeared as a hard-hitting detective in Underbelly: Tale of Two Cities, plus has completed filming in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming mini-series The Pacific. Along with his “face-work”, Sam is one of TV’s most recognizable voices, lending his tones to ads for Hungry Jacks, Pedders, Lovable, Listerine and many more. Carey Hart - World Motocross Champion

Thrill-seeker Carey not only wrote himself into the record books by becoming the first rider ever to complete a back flip on a 250cc motorcycle, his life is kept interesting by being married to pop superstar Pink! Carey also stars in the reality (tattoo) show Inked and The Surreal Life in the USA. The Californian native grew up in Las Vegas and received his first motocross bike when he was only four years old. Andy Lee - Radio Star

Melbourne-born Andy is one half of the hit, comic duo Hamish & Andy. The pair’s national radio show is the #1 rating, drive-time program in the country, with a massive audience share of around 20% (the highest ever recorded for a national FM show in Australia). Andy also appears fortnightly on Rove, plus won Cleo Bachelor of the Year in 2006. His partner is high-profile model Megan Gale, meaning he’s constantly subjected to jibes about "dating girls out of his league"! Australia’s answer to Goldie Hawn, blonde bombshell Noeline is an iconic entertainer and star of stage and screen. The two-time Gold Logie winner is about to reappear on Network Ten as co-host of The Circle.

Claudia Karvan – Actor
One of Australia’s most recognisable and acclaimed actors, Claudia also produced, created and stars in the award-winning series Love My Way. The 2005 AFI and Silver Logie winner also starred in TV’s The Secret Life of Us, plus films High Tide, The Big Steal, The Heartbreak Kid and Paperback Hero. Claudia has just wrapped shooting the big-budget, futuristic vampire flick Daybreakers opposite Ethan Hawke.

Hamish Blake – Radio Star
One half of hit, drive-time radio duo Hamish & Andy on the Today network, Hamish is a national treasure! Growing up, Hamish was a massive fan of British comedies Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and Blackadder and "worshipped" local comedians Tony Martin and Mick Molloy. On-air Hamish often refers to his love for comic strip dog Fred Basset.

Dr Chris Brown – Bondi Vet
Best known as the handsome, surfing – and incredibly tall – star of Network Ten’s Bondi Vet, Chris kick-started his TV career after being discovered at a Sydney pub. The good doctor was cast on Seven series Harry’s Practice, then went on to appear on Burke’s Backyard for Nine. Nominated for Most Popular New Talent at the 2004 Logies, Chris’s secret talent is that he can hypnotise chickens

Hayley Pearson – NOVA Presenter
Bubbly NOVA Radio Melbourne presenter Hayley has also appeared in TV commercials, as an extra in horror film Wolf Creek and in TV series McLeod’s Daughters. She loves tap dancing, boxer dogs and checking the weekend papers for “bogan baby names” (her favourite is Fantasya-Destineee - with three e's).

Kerri-Anne Kennerley – TV Icon
Glamour girl Kerri-Anne is a three-time Gold Logie nominee (1997, 98 & 99) who’s remained an Australian favourite since her first TV appearance in 1963. Affectionately known as KAK, she hosted Good Morning Australia then Midday, and can currently be seen on Mornings With Kerri-Anne. Career highlights include convincing Peter Costello to dance the macarena, Cheryl Kernot the cha cha and Kevin Rudd the steamy rumba!

Wil Anderson – Comedian
Best known as a stand up comedian and host of TV show The Gruen Transfer, Wil has also hosted comedy panel show The Glass House on ABC-TV. Wil was one half of Triple J's national, breakfast radio team (2001 to 2004) with Adam Spencer, he’s performed stand-up comedy on stages around the world and writes a fortnightly column for News Ltd’s Sunday magazine.

Josh Lawson – Comedian
As an actor Josh has starred in the high-seas drama Sea Patrol and comedy The Librarians, and he’s guest starred in Blue Heelers, Home & Away and big screen flick BoyTown. The comedian has also hosted Wipeout on Channel Nine, and is an accomplished theatre sports star. Josh now divides his time between bases in LA, Sydney and Melbourne.
