Jonathan Murphy
A familiar face to television audiences, Jonathan Murphy juggled roles on both the second season of the drama series October Road, portraying Ronnie Garrett, and the hit series Wildfire, where he played Calvin Handley, the inventor of the wind turbine.
Some of his other television credits include appearances on Cold Case, Without a Trace, Ghost Whisperer and American Dreams, as well as the Western drama and Heritage Award winner The Trail to Hope Rose with Ernest Borgnine and Lou Diamond Phillips.
On the big screen, Murphy teamed up with Christian Oliver and Alex Rocco in the buddy comedy Ready or Not, and appeared in Mini’s First Time with Nikki Reed.
Murphy grew up in Arlington, Texas, near Dallas/Ft. Worth, and credits a high school rendition of Once Upon a Mattress for peaking his interest in acting at age 17. He trained extensively at Texas theatres including Ft. Worth’s famed Casa Mañana Theatre and Dallas’ Theatre Three while also attending Texas Christian University.
Not surprisingly, Murphy is a big sports fan and supports all Texas teams, with the Dallas Cowboys topping the list.
