'Hit' File Details
Address: Cleveland Street, NSW
Overview/Objective: The objective was to brighten up a dull and boring intersection used by tens of thousands of people each day. We wanted something quirky to bring a smile to motorists’ faces as they waited at the lights. We needed something that didn’t create unsafe sightlines or be pushed onto the intersection by vandals. Lilly’s idea of a car cut in ticked all the boxes.
Interesting Facts: We didn’t know who owned the site. We knew there were Road Traffic Authority surveillance cameras monitoring traffic flow. The cameras made us sitting ducks. But the median strip could also be owned by council or the Eastern Distributor (which runs underneath our hit site).

What is Echeveria?
Echeveria is a large genus of succulents in the Crassulaceae family, native from Mexico to northwestern South America.
The genus is named after the 18th century Mexican botanical artist, Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy.
Many Echeveria species are popular as garden plants. They are drought resistant, although they do better with regular deep watering and fertilizing. Most will tolerate shade and some frost, although hybrid species tend to be less tolerant.
