Kakadu National Park lies in the heart of the top end, and is one of the few places recognised as a World Heritage site for both natural and cultural values.
At 20 000 square kilometres, the park is one of Australia’s largest and and is home to some of our most spectacular flora, fauna, and landscapes.
Despite its rugged appearance, Kakadu is a delicate balance of intricate ecosystems, vulnerable to invasion by exotic species. From large beasts like Asian Water Buffalo and Feral Pigs, to smaller creatures like Cane Toads, and aggressive weeds like Salvinia, Kakadu faces serious threats.
Join CSIRO Scientist and host of TEN’s Science program “SCOPE” Dr Rob Bell on a journey into some of the most incredibly beautiful country on Earth to meet these invaders, and the locals who are fighting back.
