What drew you to lifeguarding? The lifestyle.
What's your most memorable rescue? Three men were in trouble. I had to paddle past the first, grabbed the second on the board, then swum to the third only to have lost him until he hit my leg in the white water. I then pulled him from underwater by his hair.
What do you think are the most important characteristics of a lifeguard? Being able to think on your feet. There are a lot of different situations you can be put in.
If I could spend a day with any person (dead or alive) it would be? My wife... But if not her Will Farrell, a day on the drink with him would be a laugh.
One thing you wouldn't know about me: I want to dedicate a room in my place to a model train set.
Is lifeguarding a career, a job between jobs and a way of life? All 3, it's what you want it to be...
